Welcome to The Riverside Show website
The Riverside Show was the brain child of Tricia Harper, the reason behind the show was because Tricia’s mother Susan Harper, one of Britain’s top breeders of children’s Show Ponies and Hunter Ponies & Breeder of Great Danes, was unfortunately diagnosed with Leukaemia in January 2008. She was hospitalised for a year to undergo a Bone Marrow transplant and copious amounts of Chemo Therapy.
For over three quarters of the time Susan spent it in Ayr Hospital where the fabulous staff gave a huge amount of support and information to Susan and her family. The rest of the time was spent in the Beatson Hospital in Glasgow, where the Bone Marrow Transplant was performed. Fortunately Susans sister Lorna Dane was a 100% bone Marrow match and was able to donate the Marrow for the implant. A year and a half on and she has hopefully beaten the Leukaemia that had taken over her body, Although she is still undergoing some treatment she is feeling much better and is trying to move on with her life!
With this in mind Tricia and her family decided that the proceeds for the Charity show should go to Station 15 at Ayr Hospital and to Leukaemia Research without them the treatment may never have been discovered.
Tricia is undertaking, along with Mandy Lynch, a friend since childhood and now neighbour and Jane Ritchie, Tricia’s Aunt & Tricia's brother Malcolm the organisation of the Charity Horse Show.
Unfortunately due to family and work commitments I will be unable to run the show this year. I am however running weekly clear round working hunter jumping and monthly style and performance classes.
